On July 28, 2026, the Boritdol pedestrian bridge in Pohang, South Korea, suddenly collapsed. This incident temporarily trapped 17 people in the sea. Fortunately, there were no fatalities reported as pedestrians moved away in time and fishermen were rescued by emergency teams and civilian boats.

The bridge had recently undergone a safety inspection receiving a grade C, and repair work had been carried out the previous year. To support the victims and hospitals providing care, we encourage the community to donate blood at the blood donation centers in Pohang.
