On August 27, 2026, in the city of Gwangju, South Korea, two traffic accidents occurred at pedestrian crossings involving individuals around 70 years old. The first happened at 4:54 a.m. in the Yangdong district, followed by a second incident at 5:41 a.m. in Yeosu. In both cases, the pedestrians were hit by vehicles and transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest, later passing away.

Authorities confirmed that the drivers were neither under the influence of alcohol nor unlicensed. In light of these tragedies, supporting the victims and hospitals is essential. We encourage the community to donate blood by consulting the blood donation centers in Gwangju.
