On September 11, 2026, at 4:20 a.m., a Hyundai Avante collided with the rear of a 1.5-ton truck in the Samsung Mountain tunnel on the Gyeongin Second Expressway, heading towards Seongnam in Anyang, Gyeonggi. As a result of the accident, the two drivers, a man aged 20 and a man aged 50, suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

The collision also caused the spillage of the goods carried by the truck, including alcoholic beverages, onto the roadway. This led to a disruption of traffic on all lanes of the tunnel, resulting in congestion extending up to 3 kilometers in the area.
